Plus, getting married on November 9th—Carbondale’s Alien Festival Day—meant a special extraterrestrial guest made an appearance at their reception! Getting Ready at Hotel Anthracite & A Champagne Pop with the Bridesmaids
The excitement of the day kicked off at Hotel Anthracite, where Jeff and his groomsmen got ready in style. Meanwhile, Rachel spent the morning surrounded by her closest loved ones, with special moments shared with her mom and Maid of Honor.
Before slipping into their dresses, Rachel and her bridesmaids kicked off the celebrations with a champagne pop—a must-have for any fun-loving bridal party! Even their beloved dogs were incorporated into the details, adding a personal and heartwarming touch to their wedding morning.
A Beautiful Ceremony at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church
Rachel & Jeff exchanged vows in a classic Catholic ceremony at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Carbondale. With stunning architecture and a warm, intimate atmosphere, the church provided the perfect setting for their “I do’s.”
Surrounded by friends and family, the couple officially became husband and wife, sealing the moment with a joyful walk down the aisle as newlyweds.
Portraits with the Pups and Golden Hour Portraits
After the ceremony, we took advantage of the gorgeous golden hour light for Rachel & Jeff’s bride and groom portraits—and they had some very special guests join them! Their beloved dogs were included in their portraits, making for some of the most heartwarming and fun moments of the day.
The wedding party also joined in for stunning golden hour group photos, with the soft, warm light creating a romantic and dreamy backdrop before heading to the reception.

After portraits, it was time to celebrate! The Anthracite Center in Carbondale provided a stunning backdrop for Rachel & Jeff’s reception, featuring elegant details, heartfelt toasts, and a packed dance floor.
One of the most unique moments? Since their wedding coincided with Carbondale’s Alien Festival Day, an alien balloon made an unexpected guest appearance—a fun and quirky touch that made their reception even more memorable!
With incredible food, great music, and a night full of dancing, Rachel & Jeff’s wedding was truly one for the books.
